Who's riding in these Apocalyptic winds?

I thought yesterday was bad, but today is worse. I barely made it down my driveway before I came scampering back in horror. It's windy out there. La Nina is rearing her ugly head, and it's not good for riding bikes.

A couple Team guys and I tried to ride in similar wind a month ago out at Boulder Valley Ranch. We cut the ride short and ended up at Reuben's for happy hour sliders and beer.

Any one go out in today's biblical force gales?

Update: Winds finally died down and I was able to go up Flagstaff. Reminded me that a mountain top finish on Flag would be a great way to end the US Pro Cycling Stage in Boulder.

The Spanish grammar gods are angry. That's why the wind keeps blowing.

And I hardly doubt these gusts count as "biblical".

That said, I'll be riding today. It's how I get to work.

Rode earlier in conifer this am- was calm as could be in the trees!

Coming home was a bit of a challenge on 470! Then an hour later drove to morrison and it looked like a scene out of black ops - overturned semis on the highway - 2 semis and a p/u truck with trailer.

If jake jabbs was delivering to the west side- your stuff may be a little damaged!

The weather station near my place in west Arvada clocked 57 mph gusts this morning. My house sounded like I am in an old wooden ship the way it was creaking and moaning.

I got blown off the trail several times this morning. I was pretty interesting accelerating up some of the (easy) climbs without turning the cranks with the wind directly behind me. Had to brake occasionally going up.
