White rim this weekend anyone? (x-post western slope)

I have a mountain bike permit for Candlestick (~55mi) for Saturday evening (3/8) that I can no longer use.

If you can make it happen this weekend, you're welcome to it!

Texted you. I really shouldn't, but I could probably make it happen. Maybe.

Curious, when you say you have a mountain bike permit, does that imply that you could only bike in, like, bikepacking? If so, that's a new thing. I have been pulling permits for white rim trips for 20 years an I ain' never heard about that.

I was wondering the same thing Tom. Do you need a permit if you ride it in one day?

Nope. Just gotta pay the regular parks service entrance fee (unless you happen to roll past the entry station at Island in the Sky at oh-dark thirty and nobody's there )

AFAIK, a permit gets you a campsite. You can drive there, ride bike or moto there, walk there...
