Another lesson in riding bikes isn't always about the mileage but the places you go and the adventures you have with good friends.
For those of you who knew where I went today let this game play out please
That would have been my "best" guess... that double-track looks oddly similar to something I drove on the Keystone side earlier this week. No idea how you would get to it on a bike or why you would bother since it was a dead end
I think I want to try this one again, only this time finish what we set out for. I am thinking it may require a little more off the bike training to succeed though.
Ding, Ding, Ding....Ruby Gulch it is...was attempting loop 4 of the Montezuma's Revenge.
From the top of Grays we were gonna see if we could ride the CDT to Argentine Pass and drop back into Horseshoe Basin. Do you know Galoot or anyone else?
We made it to 13,200 and realized the rest of the climb to Grays was gonna take longer then we thought with bikes attached to our way undersupported packs, need a frame pack I think. We thought aboubt leaving our bikes there and just hiking Grays as an out and back up the seldom used Southwest Ridge but I needed to be home around 2pm so we bailed, hiked back down and hiked up/rode down part of Lenawee as an out and back.
The hike up to 13.2k wore me out, but the views were nice.
