    Weekend trips to higher elevations?

I just moved to Denver 5 days ago. Been riding the front range trails...White Ranch, Falcon, Matthews Winters/Dakota Ridge, and they are all great, but I really wanting to find a group and do a weekend trip up to the higher elevation trails. I'd like to keep the front range trials for after work rides on the weekdays. Where can I find maps, directions and seasonal schedule information on trails at higher elevations? Are there any groups out there that enjoy taking weekend trips a few hours west to get into some higher elevation riding?

not much is ready up in the higher elevations... Buffalo Creek is good for a weekend and its close and not too far for a day trip. You can fine a map on line. there is camping along forest service road 550. Lots of snow this year so it might be awhile. Get to Fruita and Moab when you can before it gets too hot.

Check out the Latitude 40 maps- they're great, and available for just about every area in the high country.

With this snow year, you might be waiting until July before anything is clear and dry.
