    Wed. 8/7 Monument B-day ride

So its my day and I want to ride bikes. We are looking at a 6:30 start time as the freeway is a little rough right now. Park at the regular lot off Nursery and Mount Herman Rd and bring lights since we will be finishing in the dark.

On a side note I was thinking about camping at the Monarch Campground this weekend and riding the Rainbow Trail. Weather is going to be the same pattern we are currently in so rain is possible, any interest

    Dam,
    Bikes are FUN

I will be late (possibly not riding--possibly driving up to Stoopid depending on timing). I will be on an orange bike this time--or at least I'll have an orange bike to show off after the ride if I'm not able to get down early enough to meet you guys for the ride.

Joe, Falcon Trail wasn't as tacky as I was hoping--I'm not sure how much it actually rained there on Saturday night. Regardless, it was fun, and it was nice to ride from the apartment. BTW, what's up with all the people riding that trail THE WRONG WAY?!?!?

I'll join in the fun if my wife gets off of work in time to look after the munchkins. I ran in the Preserve this morning and the conditions seemed great.

I rode the Preserve yesterday afternoon and descended Stoopid as it started to rain and mini hail. Probably the best wet/tacky decent I've ever had since moving to the FR 10 years ago!

Brian, I get off around 315-345. The sucky part is that I have to go home after work to let out and feed the muts. I might just drive back up to your place and jump in to save a bit on gas. I will shoot you a text to iron out the details.

I think I've always done it clockwise. Is that right or wrong?

I say that is the right way, Kman will say that is the wrong way so you go down the steep climb but I like the winding back Dow to the cadet area instead of the loosing all your alt. in 35 seconds.

The trails are mostly decomposed granite and hold up fairly well to downpours. There are a few sections that suck when wet, but not much. There used to be lots of washout problems, but guys like Joe have done massive amounts of trail work over the years to alleviate a lot of those problems.

Forecast at 6pm tomorrow is for 50 degrees, 100% humidity, and 70% chance of thunderstorms. Come prepared...

    So we have 3 options

    1. Ride rain or shine, the trails will be fine in monument and I can keep us out of any muck.

    2. We show up, if weather is too bad I will buy all that show up a beer at Pikes Peak Brewing company.

    3. We post-pone until tomorrow and pray for better weather. Doesn't look like the TITTs crew has anything planned so may get a couple stragglers from Denver.
