Wandering Kirk Sighting

So I traveled to central Utah this weekend, and wouldn't you know it, I bumped into Kirk in a random canyon in a random desert. He too was on a solo trip, hitting 5 Miles of Hell before heading west to Thunder Mountain and eventually Gooseberry. Did you make sure to give his back tire a little rub with your front? He loves that kind of treatment.
A trail thatís too difficult wouldnít exist because itíd never be used. But, trails can exist thatíre too difficult for you.

Wait a minute. You sure that's Kirk? I see a cooler, and some camp cooking stuff there.

whatever. that's still a really cool shot.

Kirk in Nevada

Not food. Cooler's full of peyote. I'm still waiting for a late night call from the authorities to search our garage.

No that is Kirk's stuff! I was in minimal mode with bivy, small cooler, and the camp box. Kirk had a two burner stove, big cooler, and tons of food.

I don't know who Kirk is, but that's a really cool picture. Do you drive in and ride from base camp, or is that all packed while riding?

Kirk and tent at the camp...
So I pulled the bike off the car, and notice a slightly funny shape to my right rear tire.
Just then Jason buzzed by in the subbie, missing the turn....

Hmm....a quick calculation on amount of water/food (3 days worth) in the car, distance from closet civilization: 15 miles on a choppy dirt road (same dirt road which caused good tire to become flat on the bottom) with a "temporary" tire, and then another 40 miles on paved. Hmmm...fug it, so I rode. For seven hours in the desert....not seeing another soul on the trail....it's desolate out there. Got back just as it was getting dark.

And when I got back, the damn tire didn't have the decency to fix itself while I was gone....freaking worthless I tell ya....

Apparently that stuff isn't designed to fix the big hole that a pointy rock can put in at 50 mph....
