    Valmont Bike Park closed

Article from the DC: Boulder closes Valmont Bike Park, cites damage and poor conditions - Boulder Daily Camera

IMO, they should be closing a lot of other trails when it's slushy and muddy. Marshall/Springbrook area is a disaster. What possesses people to go out on their mountain bikes in slush and mud?

Up to date info on conditions etc is available on Valmont's Facebook page. And often @ BMA's page too.
Take the long cut, we'll get there eventually.

Are you suggesting the closure cited by the OP is due to foot traffic?

    From the linked article:

Recent running, snowboarding, sledding, dog walking and biking on the trails have caused "excessive damage" to the park's surfacing material and base layers, officials said in a press release today.

No disrespect to the bike park, but I do think it's funny that an article in the Camera about muddy footprints in a park generates more comments and attention than more pressing news or real world matters. Had a good laugh at how seriously a lot of folks take that.
