    Vail 6/24-25

I'll be in Vail this Saturday & Sunday. Planning on doing Meadow Mtn one day then maybe Buffehr Creek the other on the SS.

Let me know if anyone wants to meet up.

I'll be in Vail tomorrow for business but I'm gonna bring my bike and get a ride in before heading back home. The only riding I have done in Vail is DH at the resort... so I'm looking to do a cool XC type ride. Can you recommend one?

    Thanks!

Try Meadow Mtn off the Minturn exit.
Beautiful and easy to navigate. Any bike shop can set you up with directions.
The quick & simple is to take the Minturn exit going south. Immediately on the right is the Meadow Mtn parking lot. Jump on the trail. Turn right at the two forks. At the top you'll find the cabin. Descend on the singletrack past the cabin. After 20 minutes of descending there's a fork. The right hand path will take you back to Rte 6. Turn right at the road to get back to the lot.

    Enjoy !

    Nothing 6er-worthy up there?

I've ridden most of what Vail has to offer between my 3 years there as a full time resident and all the weekend trips since coming to the front range.

There is some 6er worthy lift accessed stuff on Vail mtn. But the remainder of the trails are better suited to the lighter bike and have been enjoying moving light & fast on the 29er SS.

Thanks for the info, I'll check it out tomorrow!

I'll be on my 36lb Nomad since it's either that or my V10

    Cheers!

    So freakin' hot.
I'm up for an evening ride. Leave around 7 & bring lights.
    Maybe Pine-Shoreline-Michaud or HTMP.

    Interested?

Just thought I would let you know that Meadow Mtn is not open until July 1st... At least that's what the shop in Beaver Creek told me. I did some runs down BC instead since the lift was open

    huh?
I rode it three weeks ago and it was very open.
Maybe it closes temporarily to protect the Lynx, Elk or whatever else is the endangered species of the moment.

They didn't say why... kinda strange though. He did say I could ride it up to the cabin and then turn back but the singletrack was closed.

    Anyway thanks for the info!
