    Vacation in Colorado

I am vacationing on August 14-16 in Colorado Springs, 17-20 Beaver Creek, and 21-23 at Estes Park. I am a competitive XC racer from the rocky hills of northern New Jersey. Could anyone suggest trails to ride, places to rent bikes along the way or if anyone would like to show me the goods?

    Thanks all

You should page "Mental Montana" who is a Springs rider with NJ roots. I'll tune him into this thread if he is going to be around.

Hi Hammarhead. Either come by the shop (Lyons, 25min from Estes) or give me a shout. I can direct you to some good riding in the greater Estes area.

The biking around Estes is elusive (if it even exists), I'll second you stopping in at Dave's shop and getting info of the area; he'll know where to go.

As for Beaver Creek, I am aware that there are some trails on the mountain, but your best bet is to grab a latitude 40 map and go do 2 Elks as a loop from Vail, or partial shuttle from Shrine Pass Road. As a XC racer, you'll love that trail.

Hammarhead- check the post "little help- two Elks" for trail options around Beaver Creek area. Check the Latitude 40 map, Ecosports website.

XC racer singletrack must do's: Meadow Mtn, Cougar Ridge,Buffher Creek, two Elk (littel bit of pain with the shuttle to vail pass), Son of Middle Creek, and the 3 north Trail sections. Do not miss meadow mountain.

There is countless other stuff around Vail mtn, Beaver Creek, Edwards and Eagle.

Thanks EndoMadness and the rest of you all. I'm headed there tomorrow and will check into as much as possible. I remain open to BC/Vail and Estes suggestions. Ride hard, ride fast!
