USA Pro Challenege Stage 5 - Friday

Alright, seriously, what's going on here?
I can post a new thread with my alias but not with my username.
    Hmmmm......anyway...

Anyone gonna be up there, besides my neighbor - yeah you, Kyle - I know you'll be there. Will be in touch.
Looks like wife and I will ride up from Silverthorne or Frisco or Copper on the tandem (prolly Copper - wife is even more outta shape than me ( ).

    Hollah.

They'll be in my hood on the 24th. I plan to ride a wheelie for them in my baggies!

USA Pro Challenege Stage 5 - Friday

From zero to creepy in under five posts. Might be a new record.
The older I get, the faster I was.

I'm waiting for Stage 6 since it passes within a mile of my house. Hope to be able to catch them in 3 places on Saturday. We don't own a tandem, so my wife will ride her own bike.

Andy, it sounds like you could be your own barbershop quartet. I am thinking of taking the mtb and riding Shrine, bowman's, and down two elk (back to I70, not down to Minturn) before the race - something to make road biking more interesting. If I see any one of the four of you or your wife I'll say hello!

How long do you guys estimate it would take to ride from Copper, Searl and Kokomo Pass to Camp Hale, then up the dirt road to Vail Pass?

I take a couple of hours (~2.5) from Copper to Kokomo. Down to Camp Hale may take you an hour or so.
Then you could either climb back via Resolution road, or down to Red Cliff and up Turkey Creek or even down further and ride all the way up and over Two Elk. I know Resolution is slow and tedious. Others should chime in about estimates for going back over to Vail Pass. I'd say at least double the 3 to 3.5 hours and estimate around 6-7 hours. YMMV.

3.5 hours if you're a top level athlete. 4.5 if you're above average in fitness. 5+ if you're "average" 6+ if you're slow and/or like to stop a lot.
