    Tuesday Springs Ride on Thursday?!?

It doesn't look like Tuesday is going to be very good, unless we ride in the canyon. What do you think: Canyon on Tuesday or wait until Thursday when we have more options?

I'm down with the canyon tomm, I think it's more fun to mix it up every week personally. We got around 8" snow here over the weekend so not sure how the canyon will be but I imagine it's the best option, do you think anything else will be ridable by Thurs??

Nothing like coming home from 85 degree Austin, TX and just dying to ride and driving right into a snowstorm.

Thursday may be optimistic, based on NOAA forcast. Unless of course you are talking about that place where you ride up that one trail, then the dirt road and up that other trail, and down the way you came ride. Or you could just ride Pwaylo.

    I'm just sayin...

Two votes for Thursday, one vote for Tuesday, one doubter that even Thursday is ok and one guy who just wants to know which bike to bring--hardly a consensus....

Tomorrow should be properly snowy in the canyon and Thursday might be half-assed snow in the canyon but no where else ridable. Tomorrow might be a better option if you look at it like that.

However, this is hardly a quorum. Kurt? Joe? Paul? Rich? Jesse? Bueller?

I'll really confuse things and say I can do Tuesday too. In fact, I'd be fine riding both days.

Huh? I didn't think you folks rode anywhere but Palmer, on Tuesday's at 4:30:00:0000.

    (that's PM)

    (sharp)

    (don't be late)

(don't even think of riding some other time)

    (or some other place)

OK, command descision (which I always hate to do since I wouldn't want to appear inflexable): Let's ride tomorrow in the canyon and Thursday where ever works. I don't think we have time for the whole thing so we might have to do loops of stroodle.

OK, it's settled. Thursday we meet up, catch the shuttle to either Porc or we meet up at Bartletts. The usual spot, by the toilets?

I can make it, but it's going to be close, K. I didn't bring a bike because I wasn't sure if we were riding. That means I have to get out of work a bit early, drive home, grab a bike, and head your way. 1630 might be pushing it for me. Today might be a trials bike day.

Side note: I ground the rear rim on the Echo. I figured that it would make a difference. I didn't think it would make THAT big of a difference! I can actually hope to objects without the fear of my rear brake slipping. Woo-hoo!

No, I just didn't know if we were riding today over Thursday so I didn't bring a bike. The canyon sounds delicious, IMO. I just don't know that I can make it down in time.

After you just harassed peeps for not showing up. Homers these days, I tell ya.

Regardless of where the ride is, I'm on the pedals today. If that means the trials bike alone, fine. If that means hauling butt to get home and to the trail in time, fine.

Rick and I just talked on the phone and decided that there will be something with the right amount of snow in the canyon to ride. Nicholas is probably coming, and I'm assuming that's it right?

MH is probably not an option, eh Kurt? I'd be happy doing the canyon again, PP, or anything really.

There are few places you can really hurt riding MH. Ridgeline exposed areas for sure have no snow and the original 715 trail route would keep you up there.

From my deck it I see no snow on any aspect less than 10 degrees. With the temps as high as they are predicted tomorrow any valleys or gulley will be 'walk arounds' and potentially very muddy.

I am willing to chance it.

nomad rdr is scoping out Palmer on foot tonight so I'll wait for his report before deciding.

Just got back from a hike at PP. Templeton to Cobblestone was dry, the stairs on Edna Mae were dry, Improv was rideable. Going to be some places to watch out for but overall, very rideable. I'm going to take the big bike tomorrow and play around.

Just got back from a hike at PP. Templeton to Cobblestone was dry, the stairs on Edna Mae were dry, Improv was rideable. Going to be some places to watch out for but overall, very rideable. I'm going to take the big bike tomorrow and play around.

VPFree in Palmer? I sense a huck fest, or is it a roller fest?

I'm guessing that Backdoor will be dry, and I haven't ridden that since rollerday...

Is the penny roller 1/5 of the nickle roller?
Sorry, I'm trying to get my post count into the thousands like all the cool kids.

I don't know about that, but I'd say it's about $.99 short of the Godzilla roller.

Edit: I think this is the Nickle roller, but I would say it's only 3X the Penny roller...

Man, and here I thought we were doing the Canyon so I woke up extra early to pack up the gear, load the bike, and bring it into work. The problem is, it's the wrong bike. However, I don't mind running home to exchange it for the Balance.
A trail thatís too difficult wouldnít exist because itíd never be used. But, trails can exist thatíre too difficult for you.

    Hi all,

I'm new in town [Springs] and I've been following this thread for a couple days. Looks like Palmer Park is it for tonight? I'd like to come along... where does everyone meet and what time?

    Thanks.

We meet at the "bathrooms" which is the parking lot on the far west side of the park off of Paseo just inside the gate, and we meet at 4:30.

You forgot to mention the part about bringing the new riders bringing the beer.

You haven't seen me for a while, so I feel obligated to bring a few.
