    Tues 4/18/06 Springs Ride

As discussed last week, let's ride Stratmore, Buckhorn, Cap'n Jacks and Stratmore again. Let's meet between 4:45 and 5:00 in the Chutes parking lot.

To get there exit I-25 at Tejon and head southwest on Tejon until it ends at the 5 way intersection. Take Cheyenne Rd. which is the sweeping right at that interesection (as opposed to Cascade with is the hard right). Drive Cheyenne up the hill for about 3 miles to Arroya St. and take a right (look for a green sign that says something about Stratmore open space and Arroya before the turn). Arroya jogs to the left as you're driving up it and the parking lot is at the end of the street.

Kristian I am unable to find the location you are referring to on the map. Could you help clarify?

Sorry, I should have zoomed in more on Mapquest before giving directions. The name of the street is actually Hill Rd. not Arroya. From Cheyenne Blvd (not Cheyenne Rd.) turn right on Hill Rd. Take it up the hill and follow it as it jogs left. At the end of the road, you will see a parking lot (drawn in the attached map). We'll meet at the parking lot.

I always need to look for the green sign on Cheyenne Blvd. that lists: Arroya, Mid and Oak Streets as well as the Stratmore Open Space to know where to turn.

I hope everyone had a good ride. I walked that section of trail 4 times and only found one brake pad... If anyone happens to find a Hope Mini pad (which fell off due to operator error) on the trail in Stratton, it's mine...

Next week in the park again?
