Here you go, from today. Add to the list of trails open tomorrow - Double Jeopardy at noon. access it from the road when open (not Shy Ann) ...enjoy the top-to-bottom trails...

    <iframe width="425" height="349" src="http://www.youtube.com/embed/iO4iPpo982I" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe>

Final opening day list....Rainmaker, Free Speech, Lower Long Trail, Green World (short sections), No Quarter, Boot Camp ,Beeall Ucanbe, Boulevard (from Boot Camp down), and Double Jeopardy (at noon)

Had a great time today for Father's Day kitchen pass. I hadn't ridden Double Jeopardy before, and it was pretty fun. Looking to head up next weekend, too, to get the season pass.

Went on Saturday, and it was amazing! Only my third time going, and it was excellent. Hey Keystone, are you listening? You need to step your game up a ton.

I rode mostly Rainmaker/Long Trail/Boot Camp all day. There were muddy parts where water was running off which made it more difficult to flow over doubles and tables but the dirt was great. Looks like it's going to be a while before trails like Trestle DH and Boulevard are open though.

There's a lot of snow up top.

I'm trying to convince some never-ever's to come w/ me one day. Can you give some background of what you typically ride, and what riding Trestle was like so these NE's can relate? TIA.

Boulevard and Shy Anne look to be completely locked down with snowdrifts. Flow is definitely impacted by mud / runoff but today was day one for me and I had a blast nonetheless.

Sunday was a blast. Gonna be a while before the snow is gone up top I think. I guess winter is back anyway as we got 4" south of breck and still snowing at the house this morn. SUCKS!!!

Sry for late reply. Most of out trails in Dallas are typically too flat or small ups and downs. Not that they are bad tho. So what i found out with downhill or freeride is that I can concentrate on small jumps and technical trails without worrying about pedaling and wearing myself out. And it's just totally different from my norm. Tho four or five trips down the half open mountain was a great workout and wore us out!! Worth every Penny spent, period.

Went up there today. DAYUM is that place pedally when its muddy, i felt like i was riding xc all day. Is anyone else sad that they logged off the trail around double jeopardy?!? I miss all the trees in that stretch, it just feels off shredding that section with no trees!!! Cant wait for the rest of the park to open and dry off. A few of the jumps are pretty sketchy with all the mud.

Update for this weekend - 70 degree temps are helping a ton!

Hope to have everything below 5-points that is not already open ... opened Friday @ noon - this includes BLVD, Bear Arms, small section of Trestle DH etc. Please access all these trails thru the tunnel.

Shy Ann - trying to get it open by Saturday @ noon.

More to come as we know it...

Save Trestle, anything can be ridden by NE's at WP. I love WP but don't think anything is too challenging there (no claim).

Your definition of never evers must be different than mine...
Never ever been mtbing? Or just never ridden dh? Or just a wp newbie?

I wouldn't say Bear Arms, or Beallucanbe are great places for beginners, not to mention upper Rainmaker...

Yup agreed. Spent all last summer up there so very familiar w/ the trails. I just wanted feedback from someone w/ fresh eyes and are not trying to float that huge table on the upper jump trail. I know if I give a comment, my "nah, it's mellow" could be someone else's "pfff, yeah right!"

Rainmaker from the top will be late summer. the upper section is almost double the existing trail so we have a lot of construction ahead of us.We will get some other new trails open before that comes on line. but, once it is open....it will be an unreal trail.

I hope by next weekend most of the trails will be open. Will they be running all the lifts on Friday for the holiday weekend?

repeating a post for this thread to get your input, thank in advance folks:

Sounds like Trestle may have what I'm looking for. Got a group of 4 of us XC racing types doing Firecracker 50 on Monday and looking to do some fun riding Tuesday without climbing. Does Trestle offer blue/"light black" and maybe even some green trails accessible by lift? We'll have had enough climbing after Monday.

It'll be our first time doing lift access riding, so trying to make sure we don't get stuck walking our 4" xc bikes down crazy stuff.

    thanks for any insights

in addition to Zephyr, Eskimo will run Friday- Monday and Gemini Sat-Monday. soooo pretty much no lift lines and hot laps....

to RFXC - we got you covered. Green World, Free Speech, Lower Long Trail, Shy Ann are all super good for for getting a feeling of bike park trails. Look into the rental option though you will have way more fun on something with a bit more squish, see you up here and good luck at the 50!

I give this group a 75% conversion rate...if you rent a big bike, you'll sell your little XC rig(s) and convert to a min 6" AM bike and will most likely have another full on 8" DH bike by next summer.

Edit: and the poster will be one of the three

Had a great day as usual, until that storm shut it down for 45 or so. Sounds like I was a day early for Jury Duty though

Hate to sound greedy and all,esp since the news of the top to bottom rainmaker in late august, but are there any plans for more drops like on No Quarter,or wood doubles??! Soo fun. Oh,and I didn't know wednesdays (starting next week, along with fridays) lifts will run til 7....bravo

    Because there are three lifts.

Zephyr is open every day, Gemini and Eskimo are open on the weekends.
There is a fourth lift, that is only for the alpine slide and disc golf, so for our intents and purposes, there are three lifts.

Thanks yeti, never noticed any bike haulers on other lifts but wasn't paying attention...that and i normally dont ride weekends.

Was there yesterday and compared to last weds it seemed like there was a lot of melting going on! Surprised to see a lot of snow piles/banks completely gone. Blvd looked totally melted out and like some maintenance was being done. Shy ann was still muddy in places. After one maybe two shyann runs we started taking just upper shy ann to Double Jeopardy to 5 points.
