    trails near Littleton?

    Hey folks,

I'm going to be in Littleton for a few days next week for work; hopefully I'll be able to sneak away from the team building events for an evening or two to grab some fresh air.

Are there any trails near Littleton? Once again I'll be coming to CO without a bike, but I'll have my handy trail running shoes.

    I'll be staying here:

any trail recommendations would be appreciated!

    some suggestions

Well you're a little further east than I expected when you said Littleton, you're in the ever-so-lovely Highway Ranch area. Well, with a short drive you can get to some good trail running. I suggest:
Waterton Canyon: Soft dirt road for 6 miles with about 500' elevation gain to the damn, you can easily link another 6 miles of singletrack on top of that with a lot more vert. Mile Markers every mile for the first 6 miles and a few .5 markers (0.5 and 2.5?). (the crowds thin after about 3 miles into the canyon.
Deer Creek Canyon Park: Great trail running here and less crowded than Waterton. Has trails that link it with:
South Valley Park: Nicer open areas, not a lot of elevation. Avoid if it is hot, no shade.
Mt. Falcon: Test yourself with a run up Mt. Falcon, not a lot of places to take a break here. Where it flattens out for about 50 yards is roughly halfway for reference.

Have fun and don't forget your bike next time.
