    totally off topic....

I have an IPod shuffle (2G) ... love it. However, intermittently when I dock the pod the mouse and keyboard foul out and I have to reboot the whole PC! Don’t know what is causing this?? Any ideas>
    Thanks in advance

It totally depends on the color...

    What color is your shuffle?

Question- are you running Vista or XP? The whole combo doesn't work on '98.

Make sure you have the most current version of iTunes. Also make sure you have the most up to date version of software for your iPod Shuffle. If not, update them.

Or you could delete all things iTunes related on your computer and re-install it.

If all else fails, make an appointment at the Genius Bar at your local Apple store and they'll probably restore your software and update it and then tell you some other fun things about your shuffle.

    Resort to desperation

Or google ipod forums and go from there.

God said, "let there be light"

Then he said "wait, rewind, let there be google"

Are all three things being plugged in via USB port? Perhaps make sure the USB drivers are all up to date if that's the case. I just spent a lengthy period of time with a similar issue and my USB ports doing weird things. I don't know what ended up finally resolving it, I'm not smart with computers that way, all I know for sure is that I updated a lot of things, then things started to work.

    drivers

Dan D is right, make sure your USB drivers are up to date, then if that fails, try another USB port. On my computer, when I updated to USB 2.0, high power draw devices like my iPod and Camera would crash my machine when plugged into my front USB ports. However when plugged into the back ports they work fine. This is because the back ports are directly on the mother board eliminating some of the power issues.

I've seen some weird things with Microsoft Intellipoint drivers for their wireless keyboards and mice also cause issues. Try uninstalling the Intellipoint drivers and see if the problem goes away.... same could be said for Logitech or any other third party drivers for your mouse/keyboard. If you uninstall the drivers and problem goes away, check to see if there are new drivers from that manufacturer.

Oh, and start saving now for the Mac! ::grin::

Forget all that nonsense about getting a Mac. Get a non-Apple MP3 player.

    $20 I might add...

I guess it 'tis a bit bigger than the Shuffle.

Are you equating an Apple product with a Ti SS?

i do have an intellipoint mouse!

this might be the reason... however time will tell! I have changed the ipod docking station usb port and we will see what difference that makes. But I have always suspected that the mouse might be causing the issue!
