fwiw, I think it's a neat concept but more for people like my mom (71 w/2 bionic knees and hips) or maybe people rehabbing from foot/ankle/knee/hip surgeries. One of my microfracture friends was running in a pool and on one of these gadgets for a while. I'm pretty sure he would have killed for something like that.

Something like this would have helped my mom recover from her knee injury (mid 60's in age). For someone to give up a bike just because would be silly.

And I was coming here to post:

    "The Flintstones already did it!"

After about 3 seconds of thinking that was designed by the recumbent people to make them seem more acceptable... the myriad rehab possibilities became apparent.

Having that 'top tube' bar right in your face/line of sight would drive me nuts.

Yep, the design is a bit over the top. and the sling would drive your nuts

I agree a giant balance bike approach would be better, unless you need to be able to swing your legs can-can style. At least you could then rest your legs on the non-steeering portion of the bike. Imagine trying to transport that thing too.

I did not think it was possible to be sillier than this:

    ElliptiGO outdoor elliptical bicycle

    I was incorrect.
The correct number of bikes one should own is N+1, where N is the number of bikes currently owned.

Ultra athletes like Dean Karnazes endorse that 'bike'. And it does look more engineered than the OP's 'bike'.
    I saw the Bike Forest
on tv not too long ago and its definitely silly.

You gotta give them all credit for trying. I am sure they are all fun to ride and perhaps even beneficial to the rider, but it's like saying a ski bike is better than skis. There are a thousand other bikes I would buy before buying these.

Any other bright ideas out there?

Yup, but also doubles as a place to rest when you get tired. (35 second mark).

At least I can understand the sense behind the wedgie bike, that is how it could be useful for people with injuries. Elipticycle and treadmill bike are just plain moronic. However, I did enjoy them getting sweet air on the treadmill bike.
