Tempting Is The Scenery _ tits Thurs night ride_Marshal Mesa style

Changing up the scenery that is...

Since most of us will be on GM this Sat lets switch it up!
Marshal Mesa has been discussed and I've never ridden there. Seems like a good time to start.

Lets say 6-6:30 at the trailhead. Carpooling from Denver is a strong possibility.

Don your Birks, grab a Pumpkin Spice latte, and a pair of wheels, it's Halloween and we're goin' to Boulder

    Old Man,

I'm thinking our trailhead should be Greenbelt Plateau parking lot at hwy 93 and 128... between 6 and 6:30, like HomegrownMN said and we'll try and roll westward from there. We'll either do a necktie loop on the Doudy/Springbrook side, or exit at the Doudy Draw TH and roll down Eldorado Springs Dr. to the Marshall TH... either way I'm thinking we could probably meet you ~8 or so at the MM TH if you're so inclinated and amenable to those sorts of shenanigans.

Afterwards I'm thinking a pint (or a can) at Rocky Flats Lounge:

This may very well be the finest drinking establishment between Golden and Boulder. Hell, it might be the only. The jewel of the old nuclear zone, Rocky Flats provides the type of ambience that you just can't find at those bars that are, "new", "trendy", or "up to health code."

    Really wishing it wasn't Halloween.....

but I got to take the kids out trick or treating tonight Marshall Mesa and T.I.T.S. sounds like a good combination, really wish I could make it.

Don't forget it is going to cost you to park/ride in Boulder county if you are not a Boulder resident. Was looking at another map as I thought one of the lots along 93 was not a pay lot. Nope, they all have $ signs on them on the map, cha ching! Boulder County Open Space parking fees

There is the small dirt Park n Ride lot off of 93 & Eldorado Springs Road, across from the entrance to the Marshal Mesa lot. May be a couple spots available.

Have fun, will be thinking about you guys while I am out roaming the streets tonight

If I make it, I will text someone (or all attendees that I have #s for), and figure a meetup spot. I think there is pretty good service out there.
Looks like I am about 50/50.
I thought the 93/128 lot was free. Maybe they changed it.

******************* edit - I see on Scar's link they added fees in July to that lot **************
I heard they were going to get rid of the fees. Guess not.

If you guys go east a couple miles on 128, just past the windmills at the top of the hill there is a place to park on the north side of the road. There is a gate that will get you onto high plains trail and then you can ride west towards 93. It's free.

Wish I could join but I have kids and you know what that means tonight.

You guys should go to the lot on 128, ride high plains then Greenbelt (take the single track to the side) to Community Ditch. Then east and drop down to Marshall Masa where the trails forks and head back west. Play on the white rocks. The climb out of Marshall Mesa and loop back to Greenbelt and south back to High plains. Then cross 93 and ride Flatirons vista north to Doudy Draw. Drop down and climb back up and do the Springbrook loop (either way but I like clockwise). Then back track on Doudy Draw and do Flatiron Vista north in reverse. Cross 93 and ride high plains back to the car.

That would be a fun ride!

Yeah dem winds was a might' bit pow'rful last night. Super freaky being pushed uphill in a couple spots. The howling of the wind in the power lines was awesomely creepy too.
