    Super Hall

Boulder to Hall Ranch without the car--No confession this week....And the sights along the way. I even made a pass through Niwot on the way back. 53 miles total with one loop of Nelson at the top of Hall. It can be done with less mileage but more pavement.

Admittedly, although there is single track along the way, this is most of the experience...at least there isn't traffic buzzing by going 70 mph all the time.

This is as you pass Plateau road if you were going to Ride Heil. No Heil this time.

    @ Nelson Road

A little hogback off 51st street.

Convincing signage. I would not want to get gored by steer skulls.

The only photo at Hall...the cliche pic of Meeker with Longs peeking out behind.

Some cool bike shop moved recently. I stopped by and had a chat with Dave and a beer with GiantSaam, who I ran into on the trail . It's on the right heading into town on the right before the "Y." This is the only photo I know of where I'm in it twice with my bike.

    It was tomorrow.

After the beer, which went right to my head, I had 19 more miles left.

I thought I was seeing things so I took a pic to prove I was.

Lots of old history out there...this was near Niwot.

This ride motived me to consider riding super Heil/Hall Combo before the connector is done to Lyons from Heil.

(all photos taken with a point and shoot Canon A80)

It was great getting a little bit of ridding in with you. Glad to hear you had a great ride.

I would still like to you see your version. I saw a better photo op as I rode off on the east side. This was taken on the west side. I have been to a wild Halloween party at this place one time.

BTW, you seem to do a lot of miles on the same dirt as I do recalling your hay rolls photo.

Excellent pics lidarman! I'm heading up to Hall for a ride this afternoon... of course, I'm driving there from Englewood, but don't tell anyone.

Leaving from Highlands Ranch probably around 12-12:30pm... not sure how long it will take to get there... Hoping to get done before those afternoon thunderstorms that are supposed to hit.

That is hilarious, you wait till I leave town to finally come up to Hall.....you just do not like riding with me at all--I think I just finally got the hint! Now to see jdub moving over to the dark side to ride with you too--I just feel all alone now. Except....there is the east coast Virginia single track that is just rocking our world right now--so fast, so GREEN here and so many water crossings, its hard to know what to do, except smile and keep pedaling as hard as we can. Oh did I mention NO crowds at all--trails to ourselves---even on weekends. Pics soon...once we get the week over with. Question is, when I get back, I guess I have no more riding partners--do I have to get a single rigid 29r now to fit in? Oh wait, I am not 6'--guess I can never join that club!!!

We definitely roll a lot of the same stuff. That route you took is all very familiar ground to me. One day I'll get a proper shot of Altona. I'm usually on a lunch ride and don't have much time to take pictures.

So if you were at a Halloween party there, do you know what that Alton building history is? It seems abandoned now?

Well rest easy, I can't make it that early today. Although I'm sure JSD probably planned it that way as he didn't want to be waiting at the top of the climb for me to finally get there.

That party was in 2005. Funny enough although it looks abondoned, it's alive and kicking. Nice inside actually.
