    Suggestions for fire/logging/access roads?

Looking for recommendations for great dirt road climbs/rides near SW Denver area.

Suggestions of any books or maps with some info would be appreciated. Beautiful terrain, vistas and minimal traffic a plus. If tied into some trails even better. Some of the access roads around Co Springs (Cheyenne Mtn.) come to mind.

If something amazing comes to mind in other areas, please share too!

Thanks for any suggestions or thoughts.

    Tim

Mt Herman Road in Monument ties into a good network of trails and fireroads

Idaho Springs, Dumont, Empire and Georgetown offer a huge network of 4x4 trails, mining roads, and 4x4 roads that could be tied together to make 100 mile + routes...be wary of private property in this area but it could be done without crossing private property.

This is somewhat related to the OPs question. Are access/service roads on ski resort leases open to the public, assuming the lease is on FS property?
