Suggestion for a fun75 mile ride

I'm planning train for a long ride this September and interested in suggestions for trails in Colorado. My goal is a fun and challenging section of trail that will motivate me to train for. I travel a lot and need extra motivation to hit the gym. I had consider Ring the Peak, but as I read more about it, the ride didn't sound like an intrinsically fun trail. I'm currently thinking of a couple things

    1) I love crested butte and could link a number of trails together out there

    2) Kenosha pass into Breckinridge +?

    3) Colorado trail? Near BV?

    4) others?

    Looking for opinions?

I find that 'fun' stops happening around 40 miles...

I call it the "Como Loop" it's not all off-road, but it's around 65 miles.
Park in Como, ride up 285 (it's not bad a pretty good shoulder to ride up) to Kenosha pass, Colorado trail to Breckenridge, out of Breckenridge over Boreas pass back to the car. If you feel good on top of Boreas pass take Gold (trail 698) Dust trail down to Como will add a few more miles plus it's more singletrack. I do it every year in September. AWESOME ride and can't go wrong.

My favorite roll-yer-own adventure in my memory is this, which is longer than 75 miles, but if you cut out the start-from-Salida ride-up-the-highway finish-in-Salida part, it would be right at 75. And you would not need to start at midnight.

Another ride that would fit the bill is this one:

It's closer to 90 miles, but considerable less intense and less climbing than the first one. And there is a spur that was included to go up to a Forest Service cabin to get water. We didn't fill up well enough in BV and at least I was dehydrated from too many french fries at Pancho's in BV. If I do it again? I'll go to Punky's instead.
