Cool shot, ColoradoPaul. A couple years ago I came around a turn out on the Voodoo loop and spooked a few bald eagles - they were huge! Love that they migrate through the park every year.. They are spectacularrrrrrrrrrr!

Watch the eagle was good times. Very rare that I take the time to sit down and enjoy that stuff. Was the best part of my ride, well minus my flat tire that was a fun pit stop as well.

I was there a couple years ago in March and was getting some really cool views of a particular eagle and started trying to get a decent picture. Then I spooked him (her?) just as you say, out on Voodoo. The big fscker jumped off the top of a juniper right by me and flapped into the air and got below the cliff edge pronto.

I was there on Saturday and saw an eagle over the water. He had a decent sized fish in his talons but I don't have a photo to back up his fish story. It was inspiring.

I spooked an eagle that was in a short tree about 4 feet from me while hiking on the edge of a really tall cliff in the Flattops near Glenwood Springs. I had no idea it was there till it launched. 'Bout gave a heart attack. It's wingspan was huge and the noise it made instantly launching was incredibly loud.

I sat there and watched the one we got a pic of for like 20mins as he was looking for food. I really wanted him to snatch a fish up.

Could have been the same eagle. When we were watching it you could tell it was busy hunting over the water and edge of cliffs.

I was hoping to see it dive in and grab a nice fish!

I've only seen the solo bald eagle at the lake this year, the past couple of years there has been 2 pairs out there, wonder where they went. The coolest thing I have ever seen out at the lake was last year near the northern most part of Voodoo. the lake was iced over and two bald eagles were sitting in a dead tree sticking out of the ice, sitting right under them on the ice was a coyote.

From what I've read about the Springs I presume that Pueblo got spared from the big storm and things are still good down there? Trying to figure out next weekend's travel plans. Thank you!
