    Springs weekend ride

Since I missed our weekly 'night' ride I need to get out for a weekend ride. I know some others wanted to ride this weekend too so I figured to make it easier I'd start a new thread.

I know we were planning on riding Red Rocks but this weekend it will probably be crowded and we'd need Jay to take us on the route he described anyway. So where do you want to ride? I don't really care, I'll ride anywhere.

It looks like Sunday will work best for me but could possibly do Saturday if that works out better for everyone else. So where/when do you guys want to ride?

I have never ridden Jones or 666 so that would be fun. Monument is always a good time too. My car only has 2 racks up top so I can't really help much with shutling. The trail should be in nice shape though.

Yeah some shuttle logistics to workout, a super fun route tho haven't done it yet this season, 6k of descending with I think around 2k climbing.

    Nice, I'm stuck at work.

9 am Sunday morning works for me. So I guess we just have figure out where. Jones and 666 have my vote.

Yeah, if we can start at 9:00AM, I am probably in for this as well--gotta check with the boss though.

So the plan as I understand it so far is to vehicle assist point-to-point (just to be clear, there is a lot of climbing on this route so I don't want to confuse it with a "shuttle").

I'd say to meet at Rudy's at 9:00, but it's not cool to take their parking spaces all day. What about the 31st Street trailhead of Red Rocks Open Space just south of Rudy's?

Where is the Ghetto trailer when you need it?

The Sequoia can hold 6-7 depending on bikes and rack availability. I have a 3 bike hitch rack (dependent on bike design) and can put 4 bikes on racks on the roof.

If we only had a designated driver or two...

We could also start further up

I'll bring an old blanket so we can do shuttle monkey style with bikes on rcjonessnp175's tailgate. Fair warning though rcjones: the road we are going up is a 4x4 road. It's nothing that an F-150 4x4 will have any problems with, but since it is a rental car just wanted to throw that out.

I think we should be able to fit everyone in so far between the two trucks, so we would just need one more 4x4 to drive the drivers back up.

I have been wanting to do this ride for a long time now, but are you guys going to do it Sat or Sun? Sun dosent work for me since I have to work that day. My xterra can shuttle back up to the start but can only hold 2 bikes so no bike shuttle.

So it looks like we have 9 total people so far which is still doable between the Sequoia and the F-150, but we need one more 4x4 to haul the drivers back up to their cars. Alternatively, we could drive to the camp ground and ride from there, but that will add an additional ~500 feet of climbing.

I can't do Saturday due to in-laws family reunion... boo.

I can also volunteer my truck for any shuttle services that might be needed.

    Just let me know.

I can do either day but say we stick with Sunday.

Besides weather looks slightly better on Sun. Less chance of rain and a bit cooler.
