    Springs night ride 2/6/13

Yesterday some peeps mention wanting to ride Section 16, Stephanies and finish with some Red Rocks, the exact route to get there has not been decided but I figure we could meet at Rudy's BBQ at 6pm and hammer out the details.

I think I'm in. I need work on the Enduro's brakes tonight. If all goes well I'll be there.

    Springs night ride 2/6/13

Sounds like its going to be a fun ride. Looks like the back might be ready. I'm back up to being able to walk with my back straight. Good thing I have good friends like rcjones to help me out or my dogs would have starved to death.
Jay dude you bringing the enduro?

I successfully (I hope) installed the new drivetrain last night so I'm looking to see how it works on the gauntlet of Section 16! Bye-bye chain slap!

It's not THAT fancy--just an XT Shadow Plus, a new cassette, new chain and one of those plastic chainguide doohickies like Keith has on his Niner. The Shinobi has been overdue for some loving for a while now so I'm happy to get it back running. Maybe tonight I can even give the fork a little love before the ride....

FYI, If you havent already. Be sure to use 3 zip-ties on your c-guide as it is recommended on their website. I only used two initially and it didn't hold up well.

Yeah, I have three on and I'm going to pick Chris' brain regarding wire wrapping if I decide I like it and want to keep using it long term. Thanks for the heads up though!

OOOHHHH! Nice! Looks good, although it could really use more orange. I'd like to try it on before it gets too gross--I'm very curious about their helmets but I've never tried one on to see if it would fit me.

Thats what I get for ordering with out trying on. Looks like this one is too small and will send back to chain love. Hard to pass up at $60 bones though...

Heck yeah..safety wire is like a permanent zip-tie. I love the conveince of zip-ties, but when it comes to longevity in high-stress locations, safety wire is king. BTW, if you guys want to add the pliers to your tool kit, harbor freight sells them for $12!!!

    9" Safety Wire Twisting Pliers

As for wire, I like .021" for most things and .032" for burley applications. Avoid .041" unless you are wiring up an airplane

Just looked at the weather, bring a rain jacket. Think being close to the mountains may be a smart choice.

p_dubs, I don't care, would we still be parking at Rudy's

Re: Springs 1/30/13 night ride Palmer park?

    Yep still meeting at Rudys.
Some peeps might be riding over so we can discuss after ride entertainment during the ride. Although hopefully we're drenched and covered in snow when we're done!

Just thinking out loud here, but if it's raining, let's plan on meeting at Rudy's and driving up to the Section 16 trailhead. That way we don't need to ride down through muddy Red Rocks.

Yeah, those were some sweet (although a little crazy) conditions! For me, one of the holy grails is riding at night through big snow flakes when you get the "Light Speed" experience from Star Wars. When it's sharp grapple bits, it's just as visually cool, but boy did that hurt!

I'm glad the weather worked for you guys. I was looking forward to Section 16 but it wasn't meant to be I guess. So what was the crazy weather? I just had big, wet snow flakes at my house.

Light Speed was definitely in full affect last night! What a fun time, I've missed riding in those conditions.
I was telling some of you guys about the crazy homeless dude interview last night, well here it is. He likes to say the F word, so those at work beware.

    Random memories from last night.

    Stepanies was sick as ever!
    PDubs needs tubeless badly!
Climbing Palmer Trail slowly allows you to enjoy the view of the city.
Beer Breaks when its snowing enhances the experience
Fixing flats in pouring down gropple/sleet is funner than you would think
Arins has a bit of a soft side when he played Guardian Angel for Becca on the way down Red Rocks. Awwwwwww!
Gropple stings the fuk out of your face when descending!!!
