    Springs Night Ride 2/13/13

Lots of new snow out there, is anyone up for it? I didn't ride with anyone this past weekend, so I'm not sure if there are already plans made. If there are none I was thinking about a leisurely pace around Stratton OS or possibly Palmer park. You guys let me know what you're thinking. Should be fun regardless. :-)

Stratton sounds good to me. We could do a loop of the Chutes and some of the other trails there. I think Palmer Park might be kinda mushy if it gets to a high of 49 like the weather guessers are prognosticating.

Ute was slick fun today. The snow hid some of the rocks so you had random direction changes... Haha.

Straton sounds good for Wednesday. I should be able to make it. The last few weeks have not worked out though so we'll see.

Well then Stratton it shall be. Everyone meet at the chutes/stratton lot at 6pm. Should be fun playing in the snow!

For sure. I think the snow is scaring people off this week. I'm thinking that it will be a good time.

Brian just tell the wifey "show some love baby, and let me go ride is valentines day"

I rode over there today the foot traffic has packed 90% of it down i think tomorrow there will be plenty of dirt to ride on as I dont see this snow sticking arounf to well with a 50 degree day.

We could head on up to CJ's, but last time we had a nice sticky snow I remember barely making it to the top of the Chutes.
    Here's the evidence... lol

    Re: Springs Night Ride 2/13/13

First his deraillure hanger decided to go, then while riding/running chainless his wheel fell off and literally passed him! Sorry about the luck. We did find some killer flow trail that we rode top to bottom, twice! Was a fun night for sure!

The sad part is that the picture with the rear wheel in front of the bike was not staged that is how it ended up.

By that rock, next to that one tree around the corner of where you go down right at about where the good part starts.

We missed you too! It's kinda hard to say where Epic trail is, but you know it when you see it. We found it from a lone track, hike-a-biked up it, rode down it, and then had so much fun we hiked back up it to do it again! We'll take you on it one of these days (without the hike-a-bike part since there is a better access point)...

Regarding the ride next week, I'd like to invite everyone to ride Black Forest (which will help me with the baby sitter situation). We'll leave from my house and then have beers and pizza there afterwards.

Woa..gnarly tech problem. I would venture to guess that ALL of the derailleur hanger was removed from the dropout? If so, this would not leave enough thickness at the dropout to hide the end of the hub's axle, therefore allowing the QR to bite down on the end of the axle and not the outside of the dropout. From there, you just got to gnarly on the bike for just one side of the engaged QR to hold the wheel in.

    Is my deduction correct? <a href="http://zaazu.com"><img src="http://images.zaazu.com/img/Sherlock-Holmes-Sherlock-Holmes-detective-crime-smiley-emoticon-001232-medium.gif" width="90" height="90" border="0" alt="http://zaazu.com" /></a>

Not all but 1/3, then I think it was just a angle thing and it came popping out. I pulled the hanger off ( luckily replaceable style) and just screwed the QR all the way down and made it home. Now I have to find myself a rear D on the cheap and a new hanger.
