Springs Area Night Ride Tuesday 02/02/10

Anyone able to make a night ride on Tuesday evening? Meet at 5:30, ride by 5:45 or so?
Location TBD, but I'm thinking Palmer Park if it's cold enough--if not, Monument or Stratton.

Please bring lights, warm clothing, cold beer, and clear lens glasses. Post up if you're interested.

We need an acronym too. I was thinking "S.A.N.I.T.Y" for Springs Area Nightride in Tuesday (can't think of a "Y"), but that sounds kinda dumb. Any suggestions?

    Location, Location, Location

I'm hopeful that Palmer Park will be solid by 6:00, and I think we can find dry spots to ride even if things aren't completly solid by then so I say we try Palmer.

BTW, PBR me!, there isn't a full face on that helmet. Although, it would offer more ear protection I guess

I'm in! I'll plan on being at Palmer at 1730, Kristian, so if the location changes give me a ring.
A trail thatís too difficult wouldnít exist because itíd never be used. But, trails can exist thatíre too difficult for you.

I like riding during the day when I can see!

Did Mule to Colonels Revenge yesterday CR was sweet and in great condition. Mule going up was also fine (packed snow), once you got past the very icy stuff by the trailhead. Going down Mule was snowy in the middle portion (had to follow the mini footprints else deep snow), then the lower Mule was too snowy in spots (tried it for a bit), so I stuck to the old ridge route, which was decent (again, followed the mini footprint tracks), then the walkable scree at the end towards the overlook. I never thought I would ride Mule the first of Feb! An adventure, but Mule kicks my butt when I am not in Summer shape!

It's InflexAbles--someone on the interweb misspelled it and the misspelling stuck, but otherwise the name has possiblity.

As far as riding when you can see, I've only got four words:
    "Use the Force Brian"...

Whoops, I didn't even think of putting a trailhead... We always meet at the bathrooms off of Paseo and Chelton on the far west side of the park in the blacktop parking lot (just east of the stables).

    See you there hopefully!

Mondays tend to be busy for me at work so it's the day with the smallest chance I'll be there at 5:30. Tuesday, Wednesday or Thursday would be my preference.

What we've done in the past regarding time is to have two meeting points when we're in Palmer Park. We ride at 5:45, and then either circle back, or head to another trailhead to meet the 6:30 crew. It's nice to have lights and not need to worry about running out of daylight!
