Springs 1/30/13 night ride Palmer park?

Well it's that time of week again. With all this talk of Palmer park in other threads and seeing all the video stoke I vote we do a Palmer week this week. Do a mix of XC with som bits of templeton thrown in there as well to keep things interesting but not a whole tech loop. Maybe hit up the hogan like like year afterwards. What do you think?

    I tapped that

Heck ya lets do this I think the flats will make me bleed on that trail. If not this maybe a monument or section 16 as back up plans. Don't think will get lots of snow Tuesday so all should be good

I figured with your enduro getting a fork lift this would be a great ride to break it in and get that loving feeling from the squishy

Me too, but with a slight lean to Pulpit Rock just because I missed the last ride there. On the other hand, Palmer Park is my favorite place to ride so I will be happy with either choice.

Now I just need to get the Shadow Plus derailluer on my bike so I don't have the chain issues that plagued me last Wednesday...

I'm down for either place. Rode a touch of Pulpit couple days ago and was thinking about the night ride. I don't really have a preference. 30% chance of snow tomorrow wiht 39 degrees as the high for Wednesday...might be a cold one.

Sounds like fun. I'll see you guys where ever you want to ride. After my last two night rides at Palmer ending with cactus needles in me...Pulpit sounds like fun. But.... Palmer is still fun so I'm game for either.

    Chris,
Did you say you had a 50mm stem laying around on the Ute ride?

Yeah, we got a little less than an inch on the north side of COS too.

The weather is going to be "breezy" tomorrow with a high of 44. My guess is that most of the snow on the north side we got will be gone quickly if that forecast holds true.

So have we reached any decisions on where we're going to ride? I think most people don't really care so it might be time for a coin toss or some rock/paper/scissors...

I drove by PP over lunch and its already melting into some soupy mess. Pulpit rock handles the moisture better but I almost want to say we ride the Captain with all this awesome moisture.

That works for me, and it's probably the best answer from a moisture POV.

    Still in for CJs?

I can't log in with my user name on the new site for some reason...

How much snow did you guys get on the south side? Are we still in for CJs, or do we want to do something at a lower elevation?

Springs 1/30/13 night ride Palmer park?

Kip is doing a recon at 1 ish but yesterday wasn't bad some hike a bike due to it not being packed down. I'd say once I hear from kip on conditions we make a decision. But a good alternative would be a good idea. How's Palmer ? Or even monument ?

Probably 4 inches at the Monument Preserve. Windy, so there are some drifts. It is sunny and warming up. Might get muddy, then will probably refreeze for the evening. I'd personally choose somewhere besides Monument to ride tonight.

Pulpit rock could still be a good backup. We could meet at Il Vicino again. Lets see what kipster has to say..

    Right. Right? Yes, right.

Which reminds me, I have TWO extra PAIRS of studded snow tires (26") that are up for borrow is anyone is interested in stopping by my place before the ride. (I live 30 seconds away from the Chutes parking lot BTW) If you have always wanted to try a pair, here is your chance.

Kip just got back from a hike said it would be a slog to get up there so either stay in Stratton and maybe over to spring creek/ columbine or find another place.

I'm on the phone with the Ghostbusters right now, they say Palmer might be a bad idea cuz of the magnetic-like pull towards the tech that the inflexible ride has.

Between Cap'n and Pulpit, I think Pulpit. Those trails will ride faster, plus we haven't seen all of Jaydude's sneak'r lines.

I would still do Cap'n, but I also have a high slog-tolerance. Not everyone likes that kind of BS.
