    Spikefest 2010'

Another fantastic day for the 2nd annual Spikefest!

I chose the now dubbed "kid route" as did many of us. Began the day leaving the fort at 5:30 for the drive up into the hills. Thought i may have fell asleep and was dreaming as i looked to my left and saw two moose this side of Kenosha Pass! Spikefest 2010'-spikefest-10-002.jpg

Mateo loving the rocks, so much he decided to carry some in his pack!
    Spikefest 2010'-spikefest-10-027.jpg

The last climb of the day- slight detour to circumstances beyond our control. Blue skies again after what looked to be a day ending storm! Not in Colorado!
    Spikefest 2010'-spikefest-10-032.jpg

All in all some said 57 miles and a bunch of Fun A$$ riding to be had! Sat out that big storm in the Breckenridge brewery with a burger and cold one to wash it down! Then skies cleared off! Have to get back up and give spikes ending a go! Made it back up to kenosha to drop off the Goat and had time to make sons all star game- so i opted for that but missing the fun and good conversation at camp.

Thanks again Spike for this it was a stellar day!

That was quite an epic "last mountain bike ride of my life" ! (craigslist postings coming soon)

    Time: 15:23:36
    Distance: 96.18 mi
    Elevation Gain: 11,430 ft

Shouldnt have opted to do the longer route by myself... spent way too much time lost in jungle bushwhacking... and missed out on the fun times with you guys.

How devious is Spike? He'll invite you on a death march and then swap your Strannys with a big old rock while you are curled up in the fetal position.
