Spent the afternoon in the I.C.U...
That is, the Indian Creek Untouched trail!

Had some business down south of town and wanted/needed to put some miles on my new burrito style handlebar bag. A shakedown of sorts.

Nothing was sounding tempting,... except Indian Creek. It had been awhile and I was hoping the temps wouldn't effect the snow out there too much. It was a gamble though....Had enough people been through? Had anyone ridden there yet?
Decided on the Indian Creek Campground start instead of the Waterton Canyon route.

Not a single track out the parking lot. (plenty of hiker/snowshoers had been)

Ended up being the funnest/toughest/warmest/quietest winter ride I've had in years! I had sections of downhill trail with 3" of untouched powder. The perfect, soft, good pow.
Plenty of HAB, but damn, plenty of super good riding!

If I had a fat bike, I'd be all over that trail. SO, SO good even without one
    Enjoy :)

I'm on the path of building up some 47mm rims for the Karate Monkey to alleviate some of my lust

Like this one the best too (no offense xcguy :)).

Most excellent. I like all the bags too - I picked up two handlebar feedbags for Christmas that haven't had their shakedown ride yet.

I must also add praise for the awesome post. Had me hooked in with the thread title and kept my interest with the pictures. Recent stoke posts have all been about riding in the cold dark hours. It was nice to see some sunshine shots.

    Holey or Unholey?

I was trying to talk Homegrown into getting fat rims and just going to town with a 1/2" drill bit, all Swiss cheese-like. None of this orderly between-the-spokes business.

Gone Holy, the only way of the Fat. I'll be helping Guacamole drill his out soon. I saw a pic of doing what u speak. Looked way cool and according to the one who did it they lost more weight by doing it that way. I'll see if I can find a pic.

Canyonrat was running those back in 08, 09 during the winters before most of us realized what fat was :D
