    South Boundary Trail

I've seen this ride mentioned here as one not-to-be-missed.
Does anyone know when it is usually ready to ride? Is Memorial Day weekend too soon?

You mean outside of Taos? It goes well up into the high country . I'm no expert on the trails there and how the melt out progresses, but I'd guess it's similar to Colorado, maybe a week or so earlier which would make Memorial day dubious. I'd check with the New Mexico forum though, like I said, I'm no expert.

Thanks. I know a lot of folks on the Front Range have ridden down that way, so thought I'd try here first. I'll check with the NM folks. Sounds like it might be Santa Fe for us next weekend, instead.

I've ridden it Memorial Day weekend before, but that was after a very low snow year. I wouldn't get your hopes up, but call some shops in Taos.

Call Gearing Up about South Boundary

Call Gearing Up Bicycles in Taos. (505) 751-0365. They run shuttles up to the top of the trail. They are always aware of the conditions. I think it's a great ride. Angel Fire is up pretty high and I'm told the snow isn't usually gone until June sometimes.
It's one of my all time favorite trails.

Dayum... I think I need to head down to Taos for some spring turns!
