hey icegeek..how did the rest of your roadie go? Were you able to get in some trails in Salida?

some pix from Sunday can be found here

We're heading out to Breck tomorrow, just in case you find your way up there sometime during the week. I think that Habib is coming out Sunday or Monday to ride, if you wanted to give him a call and pool out there. The riding will be far easier than Quemazon was.

Hey Sport, thanks for the link and the ride. Yeah, I did a fine little jaunt along the CT outside Salida. Blasting down through the pea-hail was a hoot. My evasive recap can be found here.

Breck eh? I suppose it's all about the race. [tuareg]Hurry hurry hurry like a Ferrari.[/tuareg] You'll be there through the 4th? I'm expecting to head to CB Sunday...

figured i'd be riding solo at walker

well i've got my bike and riding paraphernalia w/ me today, but i suspect you ain't gonna wait until end of day to go, eh?

i'd love to do sourdough/SSV, but not sure (yet) how early i can sneak out today... will know more after lunch.

give me a sense of your timing and perhaps it'll work out. maybe i'll have a "meeting" come up this afternoon... you qualify as some kinda consultant right?

I'm pretty flexible timewise. Have some stuff to finish first so I wouldn't leave for another hour or two anyway.

Consultation? Sure. Give me a sec and I'll whip up some graphs and pie charts.

    Heh heh heh.

Considering the drive time (and my growing mid-afternoon lazyness) I'm thinking of hitting it in the morning... unless I scheme something more adventurous that is.

Anything that might draw me away from work and home renovation type stuff?

gd: Enjoy. I've bypassed the ride and moved directly to the beer. Pull my # off your voicemail. GGSP last eve was sweet...

It is not all about the race. the race will only affect two days (I'll be there saturday through saturday). On Monday, I'll only go for a 3 hour ride or so, and on Tuesday I'll only do the race. I'm sure that I'll ride most of the days that I'm there (it's a family thing so I have a few other commitments).

Don't know if I have my lungs yet but if you don't mind a flatlander trailing you around, I'd like to join you. I'll do my best to keep up. 411?

    wow that was fun.
hate to admit i'd never ridden that trail (LOTB/BC)... i'll be back for sure. great trail, awesome weather, very little trail traffic. what could be better? oh yeah, ending up at the morrison inn afterwards for a smothered burrito and a 34oz top shelf margarita.

    there was the traverse:

and then there was the descent:

    Short, but oh so sweet:

    Ok

Try THIS, no bike shot's but some great photos. It's a 25 MB download exe.multimedia slideshow of a few places I hiked/biked last last year on "single track" trails . I think you'll like it.

    Farther north...

Short notice, but I'm meeting my buddy Matt at the CM Gardengate trailhead around 10:30, and we could squeeze in one more in the shuttle. SSV should be sweet, got some rain up here over night, have fun!

you're as bad as debaser ... "soonish".

oh well, s'pose short notice is better than no invites at all, eh? keep 'em coming (MTBR needs an RSS feed).

hope you enjoyed the ride-- let us know where you ended up. assuming you're still off to CB tomorrow, but if not, i'm still planning to ride west mag and such near ned in the afternoon.

    ciao.
