    Some Clear Creek Dirt 1/26/2010.……….

How about a little Clear Creek? Just wanted to get out a few hours before the storm. Some recon was in order yesterday . I can always find someplace to ride in Clear Creek there’s not much singtrack up here just a bunch of old mining and wagon roads. This one has lots of possibilities. I think this loop from Idaho Springs would be a worthy ride of about 25 miles. A nice lollipop that should be rideable most of the winter.
Only got an inch of snow last night most of the southern facing stuff should dry out today

    I've seen wider singletrack

some nice rock gardens on the way up

    a view

the ice flow was't too bad I have seen it 1/2 mile long before

That looks very enjoyable. Was it all dirt or did you have to hit the pavement a little now and then? I think I have been around the Spring Gulch area, but not where you were.

If you get the chance, could you email me the GPX file?

    Thanks!

Only Fall River was pavement about 2 miles

It was enjoyable. I always like to get back to my old stomping grounds on the bike.

I wasn't going to make a file until i had the whole ride put together. I went ahead and made one you can find it here. If that does't work i'll shoot you an email

That link worked. Thanks! Hopefully weather holds out and maybe I can get up there on Sunday, since I'm gigging again this weekend.

    I.S. to Chinook 3/4/2010

We rode from Idaho Springs to Russell Gulch took a wrong turn and found a new route. It came out on a piece of private property that was for sale. So it's probably better to use the old road to access York Gulch and the Hamlin Gulch Loop. You can find the road just west of the Russell Gulch Cemetery. gps track
a map to tie it all together:

    some photos from the ride:
