    So Sad

I was enjoying a great ride at Picture Rock this morning. On Wild Turkey I was ripping down one of the rockier sections when my bike was thrown hard into a rock on the side of the trail. I trashed my derailleur. Suck! Oh well, I converted my bike to a single speed and rode back down to the trailhead.

I didn't realize the true extent of the damage until I got home:

I got 9 1/2 years out of that Blur. Time to go bike shopping!

Ouch - at least it was the bike that got busted up and not you. Have fun shopping ;-)

Broke mine in the same spot years ago, turns out there where a bunch of larges that where recalled because the seat tube was cut on the wrong (thin)side of the butting. might be a little late, but something you could look into

Interesting. I was going to contact SC just to see what kind of crash-replacement discount I may be up for. Mine is also a large.

Santa Cruz is a great company. They will help you out. Just tell them how much you want to stay loyal to the brand and that you post here regularly. You may not get a free frame but I bet you can get a replacement mega cheap.

I replaced that blur with a Heckler 8 years ago. Just blew the rebound on the 5th element coil that I had on there and decided to replace the whole frame with a another heckler. I really do like their bikes, and plan on getting another once I ride this one into the ground, if I am even still capable of doing this
