I hear that dude! I've been loving this Indian Summer even though I'm ready to start snowboarding all this biking has been bliss. I always tend to get up late and get out for late afternoon rides so this DST will put a hamper on that. Meh, oh well I suppose I do get 1 more hour this weekend so all is not lost.

I say we tilt the earth so that we get about 16 hours of sun through the winter.

    Daylight savings does suck.

I'll bring my shovel and a pick.

    If I am elected president,

Single DST in the summer, double in the winter, 2-Ply toilet paper in all national forest restrooms, Forest Service use permits for all ski areas would require the construction and maintenance of EXTENSIVE XC and DH MTB terrain, and whirled peas.

That platform would be a sure fire winner!

Hate to break it to you kids, but Daylight Savings Time is what gives us extra light in the afternoons. We are going to Mountain Standard Time tonight. Time to break out the lights!

LOL....Nice one to point out the reality.

I'm more concerned about the seeming perpetual ice that is about to appear rather than the perception of when the sun goes down. At least morning rides will be less cold and in the light.

Thread shoulda been titled "Daylight saving rox" then, but

America runs on Dunkin, and when Dunkin says its 6AM, its 6AM, light or not.

I'm still curious how this "saves daylight". It just starts it earlier and ends it earlier, where is the savings?

Exactly! Of course, for those of us allergic to early morning light -- at 6 frickin 30 in the morning -- "they" could give us a DST on our DS time -- then we'd have more light in the evening and it wouldn't even get light til 8 in the morn! (hmmmm... actually I kinda like that idea....)

I'll buck the trend and cast a vote for morning light. Always been a morning person. Glad DST ended.

Come spring time, I'll be ready for long evenings again, though.

Ugh. I don't wanna night ride!! And I work on NYC time so morning rides are not an option.

Next stop, riding the trainer in the basement. Shoot me.

Think I'll switch out the tires and hit the bike paths if the trails get to bad. If they get to bad then I'm just hitting a climbing gym or something. My days of trainers are over.

Night Riding is cool bro. Why ya doggin it?

Being sole provider a 4 person family, yada, yada, yada...afforability comes in play.....exspecially if want to buy a house again next year.

Now if I can find me a set of those splits, bindings, and boots for a good price I might be about it.

Ummm.... XC skis, boots, and binders SHOULDN'T be more than $200.

Get 'em on Craigslist... you can probably get the whole shootin' match for $50.

    Skies are expensive.

Probably because they're "big" out here.

You can usually find pretty good deals on skis, though.

In all honesty, you don't need a split. I do OK hiking in board boots, good enough to not justify buying a $plit, anyway.

Just follow the skin track up, those tele folk love when you post hole.

Good deals can be found, but prolly not on a Split board

Extra equip to deal with for one. Also, we only have Green Mtn. Night riding is much more entertaining with trees.
