    salida trip in a week?

Would Salida be good for a trip starting next saturday? I'm trying to get out for about 5 days and looking for some dry trails.

    Yes.
    Dry- confirmed:
    all S mountain trails
    Little rainbow
    Double rainbow
Rainbow trail; bear creek to methodist
Rainbow trail; from silver creek to hwy 285
    Cottonwood trail

Things I think are dry but do not know for sure:
The colorado trail; blanks cabin to chalk creek

Things that could be dry by next weekend:
    Starvation ( I would say 75% chance)

Thanks for the updates. Is there a trail conditions site for Salida? Might come down from Boulder if the conditions are good. What about camping? Are there any preferred places?

The trail conditions site we've had for nearly a decade was destroyed by a hacker last fall. I brushed up on my php security and have a rebuild 90% ready, just need to get off my dead and dyin' azz and finish and deploy it... please stand by.

Deeps Elgnis has delivered truth. From a Facebook friend I see that the running club did a journey on the CT Blanks to Chalk over the weekend. I'll see what I can find out about whether snow was encountered.

I did a little "where to camp" page last year:

    Hope it's helpful...

FYI, I asked my friend who ran the CT yesterday from Angel of Shavano CG (south of Blanks Cabin) northbound if there was any snow, his response:

"we went to Raspberry. A few small snow patches, none were any problem, and may be gone by today."

From Raspberry to Chalk is dry often mid-winter. The chunk from highway 50 to Blanks drys up fast too. So the executive summary:

CT Highway 50 to Chalk Creek will definitely be GTG by the weekend.

FYI, the section on Mt Princeton from the Frontier Ranch to Cottonwood Creek is usually just a week or 10 days behind the Blanks section. So that my be good by weekend too depending on how warm it is.
