    A.S.S. ride this week?

I thought I had posted this already, but I must have closed my browser before hitting the crucial button.

Anyway, the A.S.S. ride. WEather looks pretty good again. I know two of the regulars will be out of town. My knee is bothering me but I think (hope) it will be better by Thursday.

So, who's up for a Thursday night ride? Location TBD...Soderburg again?

I would be up for a ride tonight if you want some company. I will be away from a computer until early this evening but post a time and place and I will be there.

Spring Creek and Wathen were nicely shielded from the wind this morning at 4:50. Service road was pretty blustery, though.

lol. No mike, no ride . Made it out earlier (still brrrrrr). Most of my video footage sucked as my shorts seem to always be in the way (damn A.S.S cam!), but I did get this short vid (posted w/ permission):

    <object width="416" height="312"><param name="allowfullscreen" value="true" /><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always" /><param name="movie" value="http://www.viddyou.com/get/v2_full/57473.swf" /><embed src="http://www.viddyou.com/get/v2_full/57473.swf" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowfullscreen="true" width="416" height="312"></embed></object>

He did bounce, but luckily his shoulder is fine.

If you are bombing a run and have enough time to think about where you are going.....then you are not going fast enough

Man I'm glad he didn't hit that tree (or did he?).

I had a "thank GOD for helmets" moment coming down Westridge (just below Tower Road) on Tuesday. I went over the bars and my bike landed squarely on top of my helmet. My helmet absorbed almost all the impact, thanfully. It felt like several sureal seconds passed as I lay on the ground waiting to see where the bike would land.

He said he braked when I slowed and lost it. From the vid, looks like he went off that small rock and came down in the loose stuff and braked the front too much. Also, he was riding my other bike, so he was not use to the setup (and the superior brakes).

Superior brakes? pssshaw. I didn't hit the brakes; front just washed out, then caught, throwing me down like a sack of poo.

I am too used to the 2.5's on my bike, and not those skates on the borrowed bike. The setup was very different than my ride, but honestly, I just screwed up on that LOOSE crap in the middle of Mill Creek.

Can't be the tires...you crash all the time on your own bike
