    Round Mountain

What is this ride like? I hear it is a ball buster. I'm a fairly strong rider and can make it up Bergen with only a couple of foot plants and a little walking on those ridiculously steep pitches.

Is Round doable for someone like me? I don't want to drive up there, coming from Denver, and find it is a total hike a bike disaster. I want a good new grind that I have a reasonable chance of completing without too much hike a bike.

    Give it a shot..

The only real tech spot that would have to be HAB on the way up is the "Rock Gates", a narrow chimney.

That said, I've never even bothered to try to climb it on my MTB, though I've hiked it many times. Round Mtn is a ball buster of climb for a hiker, and I've seen many hikers turn back just from the continuous gradient.

It would be one heck of a downhill though...

I had always thought you had to walk down. That riding downhill was banned because of all the hikers. Dunno for sure because I've never ridden it because of that rumor/ thought I read it on the sign years back???????
