    Read this

A co-worker just pointed this out to me - go to google - type in your home phone # (notice that there is a "remove info" option) - There are many other ways to come across such info on the web, but IMO this represents an unnecessary and significant threat to one's privacy.

Just thought you might find this interesting.

No land line here... My number didn't come up. I've been land line free AND more importantly, solicitor call free for about 3 years now.

Nice - I'd be that way too, but Rachel seems totally opposed to the idea of getting a cell so I can't yet kiss the home phone goodbye.

I was too until I moved out here and got DSL. It was cheaper for me to have the phone and get DSL than to get DSL without it. We NEVER answer our home phone because its always telemarketing people and I already want to get rid of it again.

Maybe I need to switch over to a cable modem....

*shrug*, my number has been on www.dexonline.com for the last 6 years along with my adress....since I've been on the nocall list I've gotten next to no callers except for those damn Veterans who keep calling me for money. Never had a SPAM call on my cell yet though....

That's might change... There's talk of a directory for cell phones being published, and if so...
Take the long cut, we'll get there eventually.

Already added my number to the dontcall list for that as well:
    www.donotcall.gov

so in theory when it's published, my number won't be on it.....
