    Rampart Reservoir Opening

    FYI -
    The U. S. Forest Service (USFS) announced Tuesday that it expects to open over 40 percent of the Waldo Canyon Burn Area
    to visitors Friday, May 24, 2013. The opening will include the Rampart Reservoir Recreation Area trail, campgrounds,
    picnic sites and National Forest System Roads 307, 311 and 313 (also known as the Schubarth Road).

    Yes! Great news. I was worried that Rampart would be closed indefinitely.
    I drank the 29er koolaid- turns out it was POWERade

    So, if we're going to not be able to ride the Jones area anymore, think they'd be willing to let us go in a cut some new trail up there? It'd be the best time to do it. We have a blank canvas now.

    That would make too much sense.

    I know, but...but...but mom!

    Are Medicine Wheel or any of the other user groups doing any advocating for us on this? I know they worked hard on the Jones stuff, but are we being distracted? Kind of a, looky here kids move, while they close that area to all of us?

    Rode it opening Friday, a lot of erosion in the burn area on the west. The east side was just as you remember, the water levels are the highest I have ever seen.
