Places to Ride in Boulder and Estes Park Area

I am visting Boulder in August and plan to spend some time in Rocky Moutain Nat. Park to do some hiking. I also want to ride some of the trails in the area. What does everyone recommend? I'm an intermediate to advanced rider. Appreciate all the feedback.

Lyons - 30 min from Estes Park, You can ride the Heil Ranch trail system via Picture Rock trail, or for a more technical ride Hall ranch is always fun.

Boulder has Betasso Preserve and Marshal Mesa, very smooth fairly easy trails but IMO the Lyons trails have much more to offer.

There is a thread that was started not long ago that has most of the area trails listed

Walker Ranch is another good one.

As noted, Marshall Mesa is very easy (and crowded if at peak times) but the views are awesome.

In Estes park there is Mt. Crosier. It's very XC oriented, but it's a ton of fun, and offers some beautiful views. I usually try to ride it at least once a year.

I will be in the Boulder area next week. What is the weather like around this time of the year in the Estes Park/Lyons area?

Could be 95 degrees and blazing, could be 40 and bone chilling.

temps in Boulder and Lyons about the same. Estes Park, being higher will be cooler. If it's still in the 90s down low, then hit West Mag (Magnolia area around Nederland, Sourdough, South Saint Vrain, Crosier. If you're affected by altitude a little lower and some tree shaded are Betasso/Benjamin above Boulder, Heil Ranch. Hall Ranch nice but not many trees if you're looking for shade.
South end of Boulder are Marshall Mesa, Spring Brook (has trees).
Have fun and getting a map - Latitude 40, or Sky Terrain - from a local shop is good.
