longboard 9? looks like a sweet bike. i'm looking for the perfect frame to build a hardtail and this could have been it if not for the big wheels...

I've got the longboard, its a great frame. built it up with a f29 120mm and a 70mm stem. Great geometry, I can descend and roll anything I would with my 575. Great for babyhead rolling.

More pics please. I was sick this weekend or I would have done a fest ride. boo. looked fun.

EDIT: Links to photos are messed up. I'll work it out later...
No doubt, are these open invites or what? I don't hang on this forum enough to know if it is or not.

Howdy Clattymine, any ride we do is definitely open invite. I posted up a note about this a while back (here). We'll probably doa few more biggies this summer. Check in to see what's coming up at the Redstone blog and I'll try to post 'em up here, too.

    test

The time really does fly. I can't believe we've done this 9 times now. Seems like the date changed worked for everyone and all of the rides were well organized and well attended. Thanks to everyone that helped out this year, especially ride leaders and Oskar Blues. Thanks also to everyone that came up to ride and party. It was a great weekend.

Time to get the party started.

leg bone connecting to the... well, er. A sign of things to come?

It's not a mountain bike ride unless you're hiking.

where's the best place to be in a lightning storm. On top of the mountain.

Those were the only photos of the descent that I took. The downhill from the top of the mountian to the Garden Gate trailhead was just too much fun to stop for pics.

We ride it as a loop from Estes because it's a shorter drive from L town. It's a loooong climb back up to Estes from the lower parking lot. It starts with a few miles of pavement. Back up the road to Glen Haven.

I've always like the friendly folk in the north front range mountains

DK (and several others) was on his rigid SS for the day

and he thanked me for it

Ittybittybetty in a picturesque spot of the climb. Almost there.

    Almost there.

    There.

    There again.

And finally, the end of the ride:

This was so much fun I think we'll make 'em happen more often. Deathmarch is kind of a loose term. It was too much death for a few, , just right for most, and not long enough for others. If you're in the latter category, I've got a longer one in mind for when it gets more thawed out. Something a little closer to home. Stay tuned.

edit - I just found these pics from '06, the last time we toured Crosier on a fest ride. Check how brown it was in 2006 compared to a couple of days ago.
