Palmer Park / Ute Valley Park Conditions?

Has anyone had a chance to check out Palmer Park or Ute Valley Park to see how they faired after the rains?

I can't believe the damage to Gold Camp, Jacks, etc. I already told my kids to be ready to learn about trail work!

Well...I got my answer for Palmer Park. The city has closed it for now.

I went for a scouting hike in Ute today. It's not ready for bikes yet... despite the idiots out there riding through the clay and standing puddles today. There is still water running in places, even. I didn't get to the eastern part of the park (the HP property), but I suspect that's even worse since it seems to hold water and drain slower than the western ridge area.

With the recent rain, I can't imagine it being ready for either biking or hiking. Hiking at Ute shortly after rain has always made me over 6 feet tall (i.e. 4" of mud packed onto the bottom of my shoes!) :-)

Lots of sand areas, too, that were OK to walk on if you are careful. And the water/mud areas were easy enough to avoid on foot, but by bike, not so much.
