    Palmer Park today?

I'm taking a quick rip around Palmer Park today; anyone want to join? I plan on starting from the little paved parking area on Paseo just uphill of the stables about 3:30pm.

I'll be out there at noon-ish. It doesn't look nice out.

I have a few hours of road riding to do first. I may get there as early as 3pm, so if you're still riding look for a guy in Pearl clothes on a 29er SS being chased by 2 dogs.

Please don't do it! It is still not in the greatest of riding shape. There are alot of shaded areas that still are holding a bunch of snow and ice. And then the areas in between that are muddy as hell. Yucca on top and Templeton facing south are rideable but if you do others areas you are going to run into the mud spots. May I suggest Pueblo. Only an hour to the south and lots of dry singletrack.

If you do ride I hope you come out this summer for trail maintenance days.

Just FYI, be careful out there today. The ice on the north facing stuff is nasty. I had some high speed getoffs that hurt.

mx = maintenance. Palmer is definitely going to need some maintenance because people are riding it when they shouldn't

Maybe you should keep wagging your finger Dad.

No trail damage was done today as its cold enough to keep the stuff frozen and dry. All of the south-facing stuff is clear with no trail damage from eager beavers. I did see some minor damage in the shadows and the north trails but from footprints, not bikes.

The rains this past summer did real damage.

On the interweb, you have to assume that everyone reading these post isn't smart enough to know when to ride and when to bail. If you know what you're doing, and are willing to walk around the muddy spots (or if it's frozen), there are several spots that are rideable. However, there are several portions of the park that aren't ready to be ridden. Props to Chris for the warning.

Yep. Ute Valley got destroyed by folks riding too soon.
A trail thatís too difficult wouldnít exist because itíd never be used. But, trails can exist thatíre too difficult for you.
