One for the big bike guys

I broke my heel earlier this year.. so I thought building a new bike would help in the recovery process. I finally finished it. Now hopefully the doc will say I can walk on Friday.

Shawn, Heard you broke your Calcaneous (Heel Bone). I broke mine in 2006 at Nathrop.
I still have massive side effects from it. Did you have surgery?

    Wait...

A few weeks too soon is not good. Hope that you're *heeled* up, but don't push it (muscles & tendons are weak too).

    Nice bike!!

5 screws and a plate. I'm 8 weeks past surgery today. To be honest the broken heel has been better than when I broke my collar bone. Th ortho said if he had to pick a broken calcaneous to have he would pick mine, so I guess it wasn't too bad in relative terms.

Complete opposite from the clavicle break then, eh?

Shawn, I can't even tell you how stoked I am to see a Jedi in your stable. I'll be even more stoked to see you riding it.
A trail thatís too difficult wouldnít exist because itíd never be used. But, trails can exist thatíre too difficult for you.

I've cracked my right heel twice and left once. Sucks! Good luck healing.

Nice build too. What's up with that saddle though? Fine on a road bike or xc rig but I wouldn't want anything with a nose like that on a big bike.

    ankle for me

I broke my fibula (ankle) last week trail riding in UT. Getting hurt sucks. Not being able to ride sucks more. 6-8 weeks healing time for me, but I'm not sure about when I'll be ready to ride the big bike this year. Glad to hear you're close to being able to ride again; enjoy your new ride!
