Old Fall River Road closed to vehicle - nice riding

I rode Old Fall River Road on Friday and hiked on Chapin Pass Trail. The road is now closed to vehicles and makes for nice riding. I highly recommend this ride if the weather holds. Park at the visitor center and ride in for $5.

    cheers

    Good Idea!

Everytime I drive that road I think about biking it when it closes...then Fall comes and I forget!

Thanks for the reminder, I think I'll try it tomorrow.

    bikin'/hikin'

25 pixels/inch at about 20% of original size...............what a pain. any suggestions on what technique or software works best for uploading pics?

    thanks

    Nice pics!

I havn't been on that road in a decade, give or take.

To reduce pictures, I use the picture resizer from the evil empire:

    http://www.microsoft.com/windowsxp/h.../powertoys.asp

Once installed, I just rightclick on any picture on my machine, choose resize picture, choose small, and it's the right size for MTBR, emailing on my dialup connection, etc.

    thanks!

thanks to Le Coq Rouge...because of his reminder I rode up Fall River Road this evening...I only rode 3/4 of the trail (to Chapin Trailhead) because it was 6pm and I was losing light, but it was a nice ride.

I saw 2 other bike tire tracks on Fall River Road (one was a Velociraptor!) that were probably a day or two old, and that's it! The paved road is also closed...so I had the place to myself! Once I was on my bike, I never saw another car or person. It's a little spooky being 5+ miles from anyone in such a quiet and beautiful place with so many wild animals running aorund and with darkness falling...

Anyway, it's not singletrack, but until the snow falls, as far as roads go this is unbeatable.
