need a medium duty trail recommendation near golden

hey all, ill be in boulder on business this coming tuesday and am solliciting ride recommendations for tues after the seminar. could probably be somewhere by 5 530.

only have my wretched rigid univega, so not looking for anything too serious, just some nice trails to sample after the thing. preferrably close, as i will be riding then heading back to the springs same night (sweat and all)

PMAC? you live near there? maybe we could hook up? I know you are dying to meet me. seriously, why not, eh?

Medium duty near Golden. That's a bit of a tough one. Green Mountain bores me to tears, but that seems to bee most folks choice for a tamer trail. Everything else is either climby, or rocky or both. I like Chimney Gulch up to Lookout and down Apex. Red Rocks is a possibility also.

Bear Creek trail (starting at Little Park in Idledale) is a little farther and a bit more technical but is another of the more tame trails in the area.

Mathews/Winters. It's south of Golden a few miles but not far. If you start from the lot and go south it's easy. If you want to get your heart rate up, climb Morrison Slide. If you want to deal with some of the more technical stuff cross the road and ride Dakota Ridge. None of this stuff has to much of a sustained climb so if you're coming from sea level your chest won't explode... No guarentees of course.

    wound up climbing chimney gulch!

well, after some internet research at the last minute, i settled on chimney gulch. ooooh! man that was UP UP UP! climbed for about an hour and then turned around. cool but still wishing for my new FS rig. getting harder and harder to ride this ancient bike of mine.

    tanks for the input
