My mountain bikes got some love on HGTV's House Hunters last night...

Don't know if any of ya'lls significant others have you watch House Hunters...

But if you happened to catch it last night, that was me and my fiance' buying the house in Arvada.

They got plenty of shots of my old Niner EMD and a couple good pics of me messing with drive train on the Gary Fisher.

My main motivation to moving to west Arvada was to shorten my JeffCo MTB commute

Yeah I was curious about that too. We have a neighbor who builds $$$ homes and he didn't have very nice things to say about the show when "they approached him to show one of his houses". I always figured that >80% or better of the show was probably for real, but I'm curious to hear frome someone on the show. I looked on on demand, but this episode isn't on yet.

Regardless if its for real or not, House Hunters is good background noise if your a house geek...

I like watching the show when I catch it, especially the international version just cause it is fascinating to see housing conditions and communities in other parts of the world.

To the OP, welcome to Arvada!

I had a listing featured on the show a few years back. Sellers knew in advance that the buyers had chosen another home, but they had no problem allowing an afternoon of filming since they weren't living there at the time. We were then able to advertise that the home had been featured on an episode of House Hunters.

Bought the house in March. We filmed March and April. Have learned that nothing on reality TV is real. lol

Ha! You did see the show. That house was kinda cool, but needed an immediate $50k dropped into it! It had sold a few days before we filmed it.

They don't call them 'reality' shows anymore. Now they are considered 'unscripted.'

Even that term is being stretched.

I think it's the difference between making a movie or show with a strict script and one where you have a solid concept but take the best of the 10 video cuts.

My mountain bikes got some love on HGTV's House Hunters last night...

Just finished watching it with my wife, who's a huge HGTV fan. She was curious to know the timing of how they do everything. Care to run through the process?
