    MTBR Rocky Mountain Gathering?

I haven't seen anything about a Rocky Mountain Gathering this year. I was only able to join for one ride last year, but had a great time and met some great people. Was it just a one time thing, or will there be others?

If you can wait until October, BeanFeSSt will happen again. You don't have to ride a single speed to have a good time.

Maybe Kirk will chime in as last year's figure head, but from the few posts he has made lately he seems to preoccupied with hookin' up with girl rather then MTBr brethern (and sistern).

And I think I heard something about Kirk having too many beans in his system to head up the gathering, he (and all of us) claims to be too out of shape, oh and he acts like having to remodel (sale a home...whatever) and stuff like that is more important than freakin' biking?? Come on Kirk Ha ha ha, actually I saw him a couple weeks back grinding one out on Kenosha to Georgia...chime in here Kirk tell us yea or neh (I didn't get to go last year and am still kicking myself)!!

I thought I had read some rumblings about it. I was on the DL last year, so I'd be quite interested in something this year.

Thread with small discussion about gathering

If there's enough interest I could see getting something going this year still. Enough folks have asked me about it...I'd like to do something less formal though. I shant be doing any hand holding, etc this year.

My house is for sale (done remodeling), and I'm currently single so those are non-issues (fortunately/unfortunately).

If someone was willing to step up and be a co-organizer with me I'd be MUCH more interested....

If it's less formal I'd help out. What do we do? Pick a weekend, reserve some campsites, plan a polish shuttle?
Take the long cut, we'll get there eventually.

Where is the house? Got any MLS#? We are currently in the market as we just sold ours.

Troll for the best weekend first...none of this BS about avoiding all the races though. If you want to race and miss RMH06 fine and freaking dandy. Once we get a weekend dialed up we go from there.

I'm thinking 3 or 4th weekend in Aug. or First in Sept.

Danka sir...the place is uninhabited so the sooner I sell the better for me.

So that mean you're interested? Wouldn't be a gathering without Josh and DW dueling it out for biggest cajones on some sick drop.

Glad to hear you're doing this again Kirk, the gathering was great fun last year! Don't think I'd be of much help organizing, since my schedule is jammed up all summer, but once again can offer the covered "bike repair" shop with tools, stand, tubes, etc., etc.

I still vote for Salida! We've got to get a shuttle going for a Monarch to North Pass/114 ride!

Second that - but I'd be stoked about any venue.

I'd like to see it happen in mid September. Think fall foliage, etc etc. That and my August is crazy busy.

My only suggestion, besides banning ibmkidiii from shuttle duties, is reserving a group camping spot, if possible.
Take the long cut, we'll get there eventually.

I want someone just as responsible as me, knows what I know....so if I get hit by a mack truck, meet the right woman for me and have to flee the country due to "outdated" laws, or flip the fock out and run off naked through the Montana wilderness the gathering would go on without me...

I'd have to bet on the flip, fock and Montana thing as most likely and "right" woman as least.

Kirk, that's mighty nice of you to step up and "co-lead" the gathering in Salida this August. Thanks!
