    MTB near Salida

I've got about 20 people camping near Salida for 5 days the third week in May and a few of us are looking for good trails to ride, any suggestions?

I would recommend that you start with this:

    http://absolutebikes.com/rides.php

Listing of trails and current conditions. As we come into the end of mud season, this guide will be kept up-to-date as closely as possible as the trails open up. By that part of May, some of the good singletrack sections of the Rainbow and Colorado Trail will probably be open. Check with Absolute when it gets closer.

Right now the near town trail systems are completely open and dry. Maps at http://salidamountaintrails.org

Also, http://www.juicytrails.org/ is going to have a comprehensive listing, as time allows to put rides up there. That site focuses on having GPS data available in addition to the normal "this is what it's like, this is how to get there" beta. The site is new and content is being built, but it's far from complete yet.
