    Morning Ride at Heil

Hit up the Wapiti trail this morning. The trail was not as packed down as I hoped it would be but I had a great ride anyway.

    Here are a few photos:

There are thinning out the forest quite a bit:

Tough riding through some of the drifts:

    I always take this shot:

    Ran into some friends:

Closer to the loop, where they clear-cut last year (or the year before?), there were quite a few drifts I had to pedal through. Just added to the workout.

Made it to the loop! (I hit some funky setting on my camera that filtered out most of the colors.)

I was pretty beat and couldn't continue. The ride down was a blast though. I was laid up with an illness all last weekend and was happy to get out this morning. Good times!
I've got nothing witty to say....

Well heck, Cletus, let me be the first to thank you for the ride stoke. Glad you're better and out riding. Did you see anybody else out there besides the deer?

Very cool! I was at the exact same place 24 hours after you (on Sunday). I found a bunch more snow on the ground and it snowed hard the whole time. I scored fresh tracks on Wapiti too, I managed to get out just ahead of the snow shoe crowd. Heil is a great place to go when there is snow on the ground:
