More OT but I gotta ask

I'll be in downtown Denver for one night and need suggestions on best places to grab a bite and a beer or 8.

    Thanks

What part of downtown, what sorta scene are you into? I've a shortlist of favorites but they might not be what you're looking for...

I'll be staying near Coors field-ish, I guess the Lodo area.

I'm mostly looking for burgers/burritos/fun foods nothing snooty and a great selection of local beers and what not.

Great place, not near downtown (shame).

You can't go wrong with Lodo for the most part. There are college to business exec scenes in the area. Poke your head in and check something out.

Larmier Square might have some fun places (Capitol Grill), or look around on 16th street mall.

It depends on what you like, how old you are, and what you're into. Regardless, you should be able to find something.

If nothing else, Wynkoop Brewery usually has a variety of people and okay local brewed beer. not my fav, but a good place to start.

The only place I've had a burrito in LoDo is Illegal Pete’s, cheap food, decent but doesn't get me very excited. Breckenridge Brewery, Flying Dog, Wynkoop, Great Divide...a little brewery crawl for yah. I can't recommend a burger place unless you want a veggie burger

edit: I should mention that I enjoy dives and have never been into any of the above mentioned breweries. I also stick to the Capitol Hill area. But enjoy LoDo!

Breckenridge Brewery - Try the Double IPA. They are located at 6th Ave and Kalmuth. Take I-25 south, 6th Ave East (Away from the mountains), South on Kalmuth ~ 3 blocks and it is on your left - Good BBQ sandwiches too

If you want a large selection of brews, the Falling Rock is only about 1 block from Coors Field, 1919 Blake Street.

My Brother's Bar! No my brother does not own a bar, but as Denver denizens know it is a local burger establishment and holds the oldest liquor license in Denver. Good history, atmosphere, and IMHO great burgers.
